Early work of Fantasy by Morris, a British writer, who was one of the first writers to write about a fantasy world. Appears to be a first edition Seller Rating: % positive. Notes: Edition of copies. The title page shown by Bloomsbury House Auctions shows the title as: "The Story of the Glittering Plain or the Land of Living Men". "Originally intended to be illustrated by Walter Crane, but, as Crane later recalled, 'he was so eager to get his first book out that he could not wait for the pictures, and so the Glittering Plain first appeared simply with his own.

    I should also like to point out that it is extremely likely that Morris gave to the land of everlasting youth which plays an important part in the tale the names “the Land of the Glittering Plain,”3 “the Land of Living Men,”4 and “the Acre of the Undying”5 in imitation of the.
